About Us

Alice Angus is an artist and Co-Director of arts organisation Proboscis. She creates artworks in response to a particular location or question that is the locus of multiple, sometimes conflicting, social interests, histories and stories; exploring physical sites, contemporary issues, memories and folklore. She is inspired by rethinking perceptions of common space, urban space, water and landscapes; their communities and how they share local knowledge. Proboscis’ creative practice and ethos involves collaborations in fields as diverse as medical research, music, community development, housing and urban regeneration, pervasive computing, mapping and sensor technologies. Alice’s recent work can be seen here.
